I was concerned about the filament dragging across anything plastic on the switch, since thousands of feet of filament being pulled over that could wear a divot in it and cause it to eventually fail. The switches with brass wheels are kind of hard to find on amazon, but here's the one I managed to locate:

I do have a metal arm on my switch but I agree a roller end like yours has is a better choice and would recommend going the route to anyone making one of these.
