Maybe we should adjust the X zero

Post by sprior » Sat Aug 09, 2014 7:57 pm

With the dual setup the left nozzle sits off to the left of the bed when the zero X switch is tripped. On a nitpicky level I had been wondering if the firmware extruder offsets should be adjusted so that 0,0,0 is on the corner of the glass again if for no other reason than it allows you to plan whether a large print will fit (I once printed a miter saw base plate that had only millimeters to spare and had to be rotated a little to fit in the corners of the bed).

But I also just noticed that there was a slight thump when a print was starting and figured out that after the bed moved to 0,0,0 the nozzle was moving just in Y and wiping over one of the screws that holds the rubber corners in place and that screw is slightly higher than the glass.

I think the X zero sensor should probably be adjusted.
