Thanks so much for providing all these good stuff.
I just recently put up the Dual V4 retrofit.
My printer was bought before Sep 2015

Should I be using this profile or the other post?
I have yet to have time to do some tweaks to modify the retraction and things, but it seems like they both are somewhat working.
If you have the older machine (pre Rev.E model) you need to be using the other profiles at this other link:

Thanks for the quick reply.
Ah, So MakerGear M2 V4 Rev. dual Extrusion is a unit they sell now?
and if you upgrade to dual extruder from the original single V3 extruder you have the old stuff right?

thanks for your answer in advance.

Yes, to both questions. :D

The dual extrusion upgrade for the older V3B units first involve a switch to the V4 nozzle style and an addition of another nozzle. (Bit harder to do those because you have that initial conversion to go through first.) But once you have converted to V4, the older style dual works pretty much like the new Rev.E versions.

The Rev. E users have a different method of setting the Z-Stop gap - they do not have to be concerned with the difference in nozzle height caused by printing at different temperatures. It's not particularly difficult to do on the older models....just follow the discussion in the page where you pick up the profiles, and you should be set.

Hello!

So I got my upgrade installed, both extruders working well, starting height set, etc.

I imported all of these profiles and they're great! Only issue I'm having is that, on ANY dual color print besides this: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:124450, my first few layers and the entire ooze shield are printing at 2.2mm/s. which is CRAWLING, to the point where the ooze shield is worthless since all of the oozing is being done before the shield is in place.

I'm not sure if there is a setting for this, or if S3D is just being dumb on me?

Yeah that would be a bit on the slow side. Chuckle!

Don't know how that got to be so slow, might have been a corrupted upload. - there's a setting in the Other tab in S3D for Default Printing Speed. I generally run that about 60-70 mm/sec for PLA, 53 mm/sec for PETG, etc.

(Also check the percentage multiplier for the first layer speed - it might be less than 100% for some reason. (Layer Tab.) Also check the Speed Multiplier for the Shield on the Additions tab.)

Definitely, increase the speed a little. :D

yeah the speed is at 70mm/s default so it's weird for sure.

I'll keep playing around with it to see if I can figure it out

edit - weird. I redownloaded and re-imported the profiles and it's working now. :|

actually not quite...when I remove the supports on the dual color profile it slows down. when supports are generated it's normal speed...

GOT IT!

Under cooling, the speed reduction for layers over "X" seconds was at 'reduce down to 4% speed'

I adjusted it and it's faster now
