printing two copies at the same time with dual extruders

Post by billc » Thu Dec 08, 2016 6:17 am

I've searched the board and can't find anything on this (using the standard MkII dual head setup). I did find some info on setting it up in the Simplify software. Am I just missing it?

I been using my printer now since the first of september. Have dialed in petg very well and have switched to it almost exclusively at this point. Using blue painters tape on glass with hair spray (spray on a paper towel and wipe on the tape... much less mess, no overspray) and freeze the plate after printing, take it out of freezer, put on paper towel for a few minutes and work little spoon of a dental tool around the edges until the print comes lose. Sometimes tears the tape and sometimes not. But the tape side of the prints are now coming out very pretty. Pretty much using Jules original petg settings with modifications as needed. Can't say enough good about the printer.

But now I want to print twin objects to make copies go faster ...

If you don't mind taking on a moderately insane modification, there's Tim's twin extruder mod:

At the least, I think he's gotten it printing two copies at the same time, so he probably knows the S3D tricks to do it. I can't recall if he explained that in thread or on the webpage, though.
