Printer Cam with Zoom

Post by jdacal » Tue Aug 11, 2015 1:01 am

I got my printer cam working again with a new script, for those of you who like to watch bread bake late at night. :)

Its working ok with the new Windows 10 browser (takes a little while to load the first time)

Working on on my Chrome browser

Not working on my Firefox browser for some reason yet.

This new script has a digital zoom feature. Left click and it zooms in, double left click and it zooms out.

Link is in my signature below.

haha i was looking at your cam 2 nights ago and noticed there were 2 new zoom buttons but they didnt work at the time. i see the buttons are gone now. fyi the left click thing works on safari just fine. you were there working on the printer though and set down a can of beer in front of it. didnt look like a whole lot was getting done...lmao

i dont know what they are but you sure do print alot of those maybe 3x6" squares with all the holes in them. looks like it holds dremel bits or something

Oh, the beer day (or probably the extreme beer day so as to differentiate it from regular beer days) was that my printer was driving me nuts! Doing all kinds of weird stuff. Finally replaced the whole hotend last night and things seem to be back to normal. I lost a lot of days trying to figure it out.

I think it was probably just the nozzle worn out or maybe something with the tubing as temperatures seemed normal.

For the record, I can see your printer under Firefox, and the left-button-zoom function works just fine.

That's good and bad news all rolled into one sentence! Now I have to figure out what's wrong on my end. :)

I often look at your cam during the week. You really run the heck out of that M2. I have a web cam going on my M2 as well.

Nice feed, nice smooth frame rate. Which camera are you using? Are you streaming from your own server or using a service?

I've started selling some stuff online so mine runs pretty much 24 hours now unless I got enough inventory. I'll have to buy another printer soon. Ordered a volcano to hopefully speed up some of the prints and delay the purchase until I see if it's profitable first. It's hard to reach good price points for most 3D items. If material cost doesn't bite you print time will in many cases. The exception being if its something that fills a need and nobody else is making it.

EDIT: Nice web site by the way!
