What could be the best 3D scanner?

Post by steveperry » Wed Sep 30, 2015 10:44 am

Hi guys,

As part of a study trying to define what could the best scanner, I would appreciate it if some of you could spend a couple of minutes to share your experience and expectations about 3D scanning by completing a very short survey (12 easy questions only, less than 2 minutes).
Those who are interested in the result of this survey can leave their email address at the end of the questionnaire if they want. No spam.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Hi, I unfortunately don't have much time now to fill in surveys, but I would really advise you checking this scanner out, as I consider it to be one of the best if not the best on market today.

Good luck!

DAMN! Is that space in the price missing a decimal point or a coma?

Ugh, I'm having a really tough time telling if that guy's a bot or not.

I can't tell either....if it's a bot, it's a really good one.

You guarantee it's quality as high as the price?)

It's like a markov chain generator turned loose upon itself.

Actually, there's no such thing as "the best 3d scanner" in general. Different scanners for different cases. And different scanning methods. Photogrammetry gives nice textures, laser scanners for metrology measurements. Short range scanners for accurate scan of small objects. Middle range handheld ones for scanning middle size objects (structured light ones is more universal, but universal doesn't mean the best), long range for scanning huge objects like buildings and landscape. Choosing the best in each category can make some sense, but choosing the best scanner ever, no.
