"Cheaper yes but it can't hold a candle to the SLS-2. It's a totally automatic solution that's pretty much fixed in it's basic capabilities. Still better than some of the others like the Matter and Form, Makerbot, etc. Structured light usually is."

Since I was waiting for my thingomatic (yes, I know I got suckered but it got me and my students hooked and made me do the research that got me to the M2) I've wanted an affordable scanner that can scan "organic" objects. I've backed other kickstarters (LazeeEye wasn't successful. Bevel3D was though it's a 3D camera not really a scanner and it'll arrive next january). My research/tinkering also makes me think the cheap options aren't good enough. I backed Eora 3D. I hope this one's good but I accept the risk.
