Ok, I have good news and bad news. It seems to be working great! The bad news is you can't use the original spool holder with the mount as I modified it, so if you want to use it you'd have to print both pieces. Also the nylon washers I used are optional I included to reduce wear from the parts rubbing against each other.
It was made per creative commons license based on this design:

Edit: Wow that's a pretty heavy reel, 6.6 lb. Might have to load test this thing.

Hey Markb, if you haven't printed it yet, might want to hold off on it. I'm making a change to it so that it can take some spool adapters I'm re-mixing. I'm going to have to add a groove to it.

I'll probably post the updates tomorrow. I'm printing it now, just waiting to confirm everything fits together ok.

I added this new adapter for the spool holder to Thingiverse today:
