How do you print surfaces?

Post by andreidanescu » Mon Aug 18, 2014 3:49 pm

Hi guys!

I'm new to the forum. Just got my M2 2 weeks ago and got it up and running! It's such an amazing machine - I'm totally hooked!
I am using the M2( latest kit version with the V3b hot end), 1.75mm filam and .35 nozzle with Simplify 3D. I managed to print quite well with it most of the basic parts so I moved into slightly harder/ more complex ones -- surfaces that require support.

I am trying to print an IronMan mask model as it's quite relevant to other surfaces I will need in the future ( plus I always wanted one :D )
My results are quite poor for this part and can't understand why.

I use 2mm supports and set them for anything over 5deg -- so I get as many as possible.
The part has a raft that helps keep the supports in place.

I attached the trial prints and also my FFF file. any ideas how I can improve surface printing? ( I would be looking to make something like a shell/ armour part that is attached to a chassis)

Thanks a lot!
