What is your experience in printing different materials on the M2?

ABS, PLA, Nylon, Bridge, Wood composites, Stone composites, others?

Thanks

Which wood material have you used, and at what temperature?

I saw the M2 could operate up to 250*C according to here - http://makergear.wikidot.com/m2, and the wood/stone composites were higher than this.

Can you post a picture of something you did with wood filament? Did you do that with the 0.35mm nozzle?

you know that was so long agoni dont know if i had switched to the .4 E3d at that point or not. Why, have you tried it and had trouble? I know many people, not just m2 owners that complain about clogs from the fibers. I dont ever recall having an issue. I dont have any pic but i do have a sample of the esun stuff here i have been meaning to give it a go. I can print something with that and shoot a pic or two.

No, I haven't tried wood filament. I was thinking of getting some of the eSUN wood filament from intservo. William pulled that listing off the website because eSUN couldn't make the posted date for availability (which had been December). But he told me that the delay should be two months, with availability in February. It would be nice to know if it will print well with a 0.35mm nozzle, or if I should invest in a 0.5mm nozzle.

Your 0.4mm nozzle will make it more difficult to compare, but if you have problems with it, then that's a sure sign that 0.35mm will be too small.

If you switch to a .5 nozzle, can you simply select it as an option in the slicing software, or do you have to take other steps to assure successful prints?

Yes you select it in the slicer but tuere will be other tweaks you usually need to make to take into account. A .5 will probably have a tendency to ooze a little more, etc, so those setting will need to be tweaked. Once you come up with a profile then you save it and its just a matter of loading those settings and start printing. Most if the m2 community uses s3d so we share printer setting and help each other tune profiles.

Then you have me off in the weeds using slic3r and eating paste, all by myself.

What settings do you change to affect the oozing?
