For reference, here is the github file for "M2 Extruder Motor Mount r3.STL". It was updated on Dec 15, and does not appear to have the failure holes.

Buying printed parts
Re: Buying printed parts
Correct, the thumbnail on the wiki itself is old, the .STL it links to on github is updated.KiddingMe wrote:Any idea where the newer extruder motor mount file can be found? The extruder motor mount that came with my recently purchased m2 appears to be a improved version of the one found in the link above. Perhaps the image is old but the actual file is for the updated version?
Re: Buying printed parts
Jim - was that 80% infill with ABS or PLA? Thinking I might print a couple spare parts while I'm waiting on some filament to come in to start a project.

Re: Buying printed parts
Thanks for making this thread, I had neglected my preventative maintenance and just now inspected the extruder motor mount. its severely fatigued and needs a replacement.
We only deal with PLA in our classroom for its simplicity, would PLA be enough at 100% infill for this part?

Re: Buying printed parts
Normally any of the parts in the vicinity of the hotend need to be printed in ABS, so they aren't going to go soft on you at ~60C like PLA does. The hotend mount especially. I made my motor mount from ABS.
If you ever did decide to test ABS, and had 100C heat rising up off the heatbed, I'd be pretty worried about the motor mount only being made of PLA...

Re: Buying printed parts
Always abs gor anything on the m2. Stock parts are printed low infill. I always print replacements at 80-90%. They never break lol. Pet is good for m2 pars as well. Dont have to worry about warping or smell with that stuff.
