Another filament welder

Pretty much what I had envisioned, except for the need for alignment plates.

it doesnt seem like it forms it back into a round filament. looks like it mashes the overlaps together then you still need to carve it back into a round state again. it was a little hard to see in the video.

Looks like a flat iron for straightening curly hair. (i wonder if one could be easily modded to work for that purpose? They certainly get hot enough. Gonna have to hit Amazon.)
I'll bet you could easily grind a groove into the ceramic plates of a flat iron and then you wouldn't get the filament quite so smashed. :)

I guess it's worth $13 to test it out.

and that's called "easy"? I would keep changing it myself with retraction/extrusion procedure

Chuckle, yeah, me too, but it's just the "Let's-see-if-it-can-be-done" thing. Gets me every time. :lol:
