Extruder not hot enough for petg

Hey guys, I'm using esun's black petg with my v3b extruder at 245 degrees. I'm wondering if I can go higher because it doesn't seem to be bonding to itself at all. Will it damage my nozzle if I go higher? Thanks.

First layer - 250°C, Second layer - 245°C. Turn off the fan to help with the bonding.

yes 245 should be getting that stuff to bond great but if the fan is on then keep in mind that will drop the nozzle temp a little even though its still reads 245. the temp reading is at the heater block not the nozzle so the fan will alter that temp. a fan can be used on small parts with quick layers.

Okay, I just barely tested it and it works fine. Thanks so much! I should have known to turn off the fan.

How would you have known, if it's your first shot at PETG?
