Also try upping retraction to 1mm (reduced stringing, if that's an issue) and .1-.2 mm of negative extra length on restart (reduced blobbing).

Turns out there is a way to convince slic3r to print objects in _your_ order.

On the right side of the plater tab there is a list of objects. It appears slic3r obligingly prints these in order top to bottom. Shazam :D .

Simply add your objects to the plater, click the arrange button and away you go!

This should solve my problems. The 1 at a time results are far superior to the 4 at a time results.

I vaguely recall arranging a bunch of things-to-print on the grid, then having Slic3r go "Wooga!" and rearrange them when I added a thing I'd forgotten. Might have had auto-arrange checked or (more likely) perpetrated a finger fumble, and it probably didn't change the list on the side, but ... check twice, print once, every time!

I've considered something like that... but frankly don't know/have that capability. Trying to brute force it out with something that's mostly working.

Having said that, can you give me a pointer on how I might go about giving casting a good evaluation?

Thanks.

Send me the STL ... I do a lot of casting and can give you a quick yay/nay on if it's beginner friendly.
