Very cool and well thought out... wish I had room for a few of those. :D

So I FINALLY got this thing done-- all wired up and working with a Pi2 running Octoprint. Now I've just got to do all that work three more times (ugh!)

Wish I had a 4x8 CNC router. Doing things by hand is fine ONE time, but I have a low tolerance for monotonous repetition.

Hopefully I can assembly line the other three as one batch and cut way back on the time spent per unit. I've been working on this first once since February, but never really put full days into it and there was long periods where I wasn't working on it.

It would be a good idea to cut the pieces for a fourth one while you're at it since you guys with multiple printers seem to have them just appearing all the time!

Truly an exceptional suggestion.....then if it turned out not to be needed....well, there's always selling it as a kit to one of the avid users here. :D

Just an idea; I work in sheetmetal; interested in trying to make some of this out of aluminum?

I prefer the particle board because it has better sound and temperature insulation than metal does, not to mention it is cheaper. Aluminum might cool the chamber too rapidly and have the same effect as printing in open air. I do metal working too, but I don't think it is the optimum material for a 3D printer cabinet. Someone did make a commercial printer cabinet out of steel a while back, not sure if it ever got beyond the Kickstarter campaign though.

Finally finished off the other three of these today! I don't even want to know how many hours I've got into making these things. I'm just glad it's done, my shop is too small to be working on three of these in parallel. Good thing they have wheels and can be rolled around or it would have been even more aggravating.
