Imperfections on the bed plate that transfer to prints

I have an aluminum bed plate with 5 screws that hold the plate to the frame underneath.
On top of the bed I use Kapton Tape and it works very well for me.

But these screws are in slight recesses.
Every print I make ends up with those as dimples on my prints. Small but noticeable.

The choices I have that I know of to correct this are

1). Add a Glass Plate on top of my print bed
2). Add one or more additional layers of Kapton Tape to suppress the dimples

Any other well know remedies?

Thanks

Did you install a Mic6 plate? Why did you drill holes in the plate? It normally just rests on the mounts, no screws needed. You can use these to lock it in also. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:602194

I would remove the screws, use a piece of flush cut aluminum rod to plug the holes, let gravity do the work of holding your plate down, and go back to printing. If you use anything else, the difference in thermal expansion could leave a divot or raised area.

Or apply a new surface with glass or one of the plate options, Zebraplate, PEI, or Buildtak.

Or weld the holes closed if you have the equipment or a welding buddy.

Sorry no "well known solution" because folks don't generally drill their build plates because as you have found, it doesn't work out.

Use JB Weld to cover those areas and sand flat. They have a high temperature mix that will work fine ....as I have used it on diesel exhaust systems when in a jam.
