Not sure how you got to that page but I just use the View Active Topics link from the main index page. (See Below)

Click on Board Index, then the word MAKERGEAR in the blue frame right under the link "view unanswered posts". It's a useful page because it shows all the main topic categories and then the active topics for the whole board, but it's slowly gotten filled up with pinned posts.

I can't currently get to the main Makergear website, only forum.makergear.com website works. www.makergear.com has DNS resolution errors, but I don't necessarily think it's related to yesterdays DNS attack. I'm mentioning this because I think you just said the website had been worked on.

Here's the diagnostics for www.makergear.com:

Code: Select all

~$ dig www.makergear.com

; <<>> DiG 9.8.1-P1 <<>> www.makergear.com
;; global options: +cmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: SERVFAIL, id: 8208

but the domain itself works:

Code: Select all

$ dig makergear.com

"What's Next" from MakerGear would help with decisions on whether to wait for MG's next printer (or 3D Scanner?), and the accompanying quality, performance, and support, ... or, to begin shopping.

The prusa i3 mk2 looks pretty good.

I like this idea. The Prusa i3 mk2 does look pretty good, and it enspired me to make the changes I have made to my M2. The mesh bed leveling really caught my attention, and I encorprated it on the M2. I love my M2 and would not trade it for any other printer.

I have no inside information, but past experience suggests why companies rarely pre-announce upcoming products: customers decide to wait for the next version, orders dry up, money stops coming in, and the company suffocates.

That's more of a problem for small companies, but I've seen operations far larger than MakerGear suffer irreparable damage after doing what seems like The Right Thing.

Any business should be leery of saying too much about future plans. Read about the Osborne effect
