Bed surface temps with PEI on MIC6 plate?

It occurred to me that the temperature of the surface of my build plate-- one of the thick aluminum plates with PEI-- might be a bit lower than what the bed temp sensor says it is.
Sure enough, with the bed temp set at 60 degrees, my IR thermometer says the surface temp is just under 54 degrees.
Does anyone here "compensate" by setting a higher temp?

Unless your having bed adhesion issues I wouldn't worry to much about a few degrees.
Did you measure the actual bed without the plate to see if that's actually accurate?

Um, no. Good point. I will try that.

It works out in the end, because PEI wants a lower temperature anyway.
