How to remove 3m glue from MIC6 and PEI

Post by theboz1419 » Sat Jan 14, 2017 9:52 am

Is there a good solvent for removing the 3m glue?

My PEI was coming unglued along the edge and I was able to get the PEI off with very little glue on it but its still on the MIC6 plate. I have used Acetone and it helps but it does not remove the glue very well, so I wonder if anybody had some suggestions.

Thanks

Acetone worked for me. I used a razor blade to scrape it clean once it was softened up. I take a fresh blade and drag the edge across some 1500 grit sandpaper like I'm scraping it. Softens the edge so it doesn't grab the plastic.

Yeah, I spent a hour or so last night, removing that gel. I put some oil in the acetone to try to keep the gel from sticking to everything it touches. Finally took a 2000 git sponge.
