Exruder drive housing

Post by Capt. John » Sun Jun 15, 2014 4:28 am

Printed the silvers extruder drive from thingiverse. It's thicker and long screw that holds the fan is too short to go
into the drive motor no matter what nylon washer-spacer I use. Referring the extras that come in the bag of
hardware makergear ships with assembled M2s

I searched this board and M2 website, seen it once ...but now I cannot find it again.

Where the stock makergear extruder drive .stl file that comes with the newer M2s?

Makergear has the drive assembly, less the drive-gear for 20 bucks on their website.
If it comes with the sealed ball bearing, this is a good deal.

Ordered a new extruder too, now I can quick swap the drive and extruder asap.

hey john, i have a printed silvers drive here and a brand new makergear drive here and they are both the same thickness. from one to the other it should be a quick swap out no problem and all the screws should be exactly the same and fit fine. why your having an issues with it i have no idea. something doesnt sound right. if you want the stock makergear stl for the drive though it is available on their github. i even have it on my thingiverse acct. its the stock file with just a tube support added to it.

This mirrors my experience also - I swapped out the stock filament feed for rsilvers' modified one and used exactly the same mounting hardware to put everything including the fan back in place... You may want to verify that everything is mating properly and/or that your piece printed out dimensionally accurate. Good luck,

Had it assembled wrong. Seen the mistake on the assembly diagrams.
All's well in m2-ville now!

Printed the above drive out and it fits the v3b hot end perfectly.
