Nozzle Exterior Cleaning Tips?

Post by 86bg » Thu Mar 23, 2017 4:17 pm

I sometimes get filament on the exterior of the nozzle, and cleaning it while it is hot isn't easy with tweezers. What do you guys use? Stainless toothbrush maybe? Got some here at work, will try that.

Also, why are the S3D default MakerGear M2 V4 temp settings for PLA so high? Everywhere, including PLA manufacturer instructions, suggests around 200 at the most.

I fold a paper towel up a couple times and give the nozzle a wipe.

I use a Q-tip sometimes. Usually just the tweezers.

I just did a reverse cold pull after a part came loose from the bed. Took the failed part mashed the nozzle down into it and let it cool then pulled the hot end out with pliers.
