Jammed Filiment Feed Gear.
Jammed Filiment Feed Gear.
My printer stopped printing in the middle of a job and acted like the nozzle may have become plugged. I removed the filament and tried a new piece and it started to extrude and then stopped. I moved the fans to see the feed gear and found at some time a piece of filament came off and was jammed between the feed ball bearing and the feed housing. The gear tension screw was also loose which I believe from vibration in the unit. I took apart the feed assembly and cleaned the dust from it when I removed the piece of filament. I reinstalled the feed assembly and started testing the extrusion. I found I had to tighten the feed gear screw adjustment to get the filament to extrude properly. It now runs perfectly. I entered this topic so as to give another problem if the extruder stops feeding. I found the feed assembly was really easy to disassemble and clean.
