Potential buyer with mod question

Post by marlboro » Thu Apr 13, 2017 12:34 am

I have owned several 3d printers and I'm real keen on buying an M2 within the next few week. I really like the construction overall, but I really don't like the separate power supply. I didn't like it on my TAZ 5 either, but that obviously got fixed on the TAZ 6. So, my question is has anyone modded the M2 in a way that gets rid of the separate power supply? Just looking at it, under the bed would be great if there is enough room. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

I guess if you wanted to find a way to make the M2 heavier and bulkier, then just set the M2 on top of the power supply and wrap it all with duct tape.

Done.
I'm finally back to where I started two days ago!

You could always add in additional lengths of wires and have the power supply further from the machine.

There's no room under the bed -- the whole Z gantry slides down there. It goes further down than you'd think. The power brick does have a long cable (maybe 4ft), so you can tuck the brick elsewhere.
