Quick Question about the feeler gauge.

Post by ValidAsian » Wed Jun 07, 2017 3:07 am

I'm new here and just got my printer today. I see that there is a feeler gauge that is used for calibration and was wondering if anyone knows the thickness of the feeler gauge so that I can buy a more permanent one made out of metal just in case I loose the plastic one that came with it. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Oops, I just ordered a metric feeler gauge set, since the getting started threads recommend it. Is it a problem to set the Z stop to a different height like 0.15 mm and compensate in the slicer?

There would be no problem with that, and you might find a slightly different spacing works better for you. I have my printer in a heated enclosure and have to set the gap to .015"-.02". Depends a bit on the nozzle you're using and the print settings.
