Using Makergear .STEP files to print modified parts.

Hi all,

I'm trying to print a modified filament guide for my M2. I can use the Makergear STL file to print this part, but then I have to do a significant amount of drilling and sanding to get it the way I need it. This whole process would be much easier if I could just modify the .STEP file in Fusion 360 and print the modified part to use as-is. However, when I go to the "Print Your Own Gear" section of MG's website, I can navigate to the .STEP file I need except....there's no actual .STEP file to download, just a bunch of lines of code. Can I somehow export this code in .STEP format to get a usable model I can modify?

Thanks for your input!

You should always post what you figured out so anyone who is reading this in the future and having the same problem has a solution. :D

The solution is to right click on the "RAW" tab and click "Save link as". (it will look like it's saving a text file but is a STEP file.)

You're absolutely right. Sorry for the lack of follow-up. Thanks for posting the solution sthone!
