Fishing Lures

Post by Lure Guy » Fri May 02, 2014 12:03 am

Has anyone ever tried making fishing lures using the 3D printer? Was thinking of giving it a shot and was curious how it worked and the software.

Thank you sir! I appreciate the link. Some good info for a start. PLA warps less than ABS, especially on the thinner baits.

Does anyone know if the software that comes with the MakerGear 3D printer is capable of the crank-baits or should I purchase a different software?

im no fisherman so i dont know one thing from the next but 3d printers dont come with their own modeling software. you can model whatever you want in whatever cad or modeling software you choose then bring it into whatever slicing software you want to make your gcode.

Check out Shapeways.com for samples of other designers who are making fishing lures.
