A Good Surface for PLA

Post by Explorer71 » Sun Nov 09, 2014 10:38 pm

I have had a lot of trouble getting PLA to stick properly, or stick so well I can't get the piece loose. So I had this idea. I clamped a plain sheet of printer paper down on top of the glass. The paper surface seems to make a perfect surface for PLA. When the print is done I just lift the paper off the glass, wet it, and peal it off the piece. A little sandpaper on the bottom and I'm done. If your piece is tall and thin you may want to print a raft because the paper isn't very rigid. So far everything I've printed with this method has come out perfectly.
