XTC-3D test

I finally got around to testing out my XTC-3D printing epoxy from Smooth-On. The vase is a single thickness twisted vase in esun PETG, coated inside and outside. It visibly increases the translucency. The black thing is a PLA safety razor top cap with a single layer coating. I did a very hasty job, so the coating on the vase isn't perfectly even and I did end up with one blob, but the self-leveling is pretty good after you let it sit until it sets.

No, it is a two-part epoxy that is kind of thin. You brush it on with a disposable foam brush. Pot life 10-15 minutes, non-tack setting in 2 hours.

Here's the razor after it's been sanded. There is visible grain, but the surface is glassy smooth to the touch.

Jeez! That looks like brushed steel. Does it have an odor?

Gonna have to try that one day when I grow up as a 3D-er then. That is incredible - especially on that vase!
