Making Z calibration easier
Making Z calibration easier
I found it is easier to do the Z calibration if I take the lock nut from the top of the plate to the underside of the plate. It is much easier to access the nut when it is below the plate. A secondary advantage is that when the nut is tightened, it pulls any play in the threads down instead of up, aligning with gravity and the force of pressing against the limit switch. When the nut is on top, it pulls the z-stop up slightly. Sorry, this image is a bit blurry.

A handful of us (who still use the old Rev A - D beds) use this trick, it's a good one

Re: Making Z calibration easier
I put a big nut (1/2in or so) and a couple of washers under the lock nut so it's more accessible from the top, but I'll try moving it under.
