Splint for heater connector (for 2012-2013 era M2s)

Post by Tim » Thu Apr 10, 2014 2:37 pm

This is a splint I designed for my M2 that keeps the heated bed wire from kinking behind the connector. MakerGear upgraded the wiring sometime since I got my M2 in January 2013. I'm not sure how to tell if an M2 has the old wiring that is susceptible to kinking or the newer wiring. If anybody knows, please post a followup message (or, um, just edit the post. That's the whole point of having a forum instead of the Google Group).

The splint just snaps onto the connector, and the fingers of the flexible part of the splint wrap around the wiring harness.

This should be printed in a material like PET or ABS with some flex to it, although I printed it in PLA and it is working fine (although it is likely to have a short lifetime before it has to be replaced).
