Pekish - In S3D, you have the option to start a print at an arbitrary height of the model; I imported the model, chose three points that looked good (0 to 2.5, 2.5 to 5, and 5 up for the original scale of the model), and generated one .gcode file for each "slice". From there, I removed some of the starting gcode from each file, so it wouldn't try to move the bed up into the previously printed sections, and removed the bed cool down from the end gcode section. After that, I ran each print, changing the filament out in between files; this was all done on a printer with a Z Max (bottom) endstop, so even the third file had no issues (had this been a ZMin endstop printer, the part would have collided with the frame).

I could have done this other ways (pausing between sections instead, or using a dual extruder), but I was sort-of challenging myself to do something complex with colors, without getting too fancy/complicated; this was also a good test of the Z Max endstop, as the Z alignment of the second and third prints was absolutely dependent on the accuracy and repeatability of the Z endstop. I actually was able to even recover the white print from a power failure (it's been pretty windy here today), which also depended on the Z Max endstop.

Thunderbt3, that...is an unfortunately accurate statement. I think I'll run another one tomorrow with the colors reversed...

wow...i thought Thunderbt3 was referring to the concentric circles in the actual print (not the color scheme).
