3d printed speakers
Re: 3d printed speakers
very nice!
they do need a little EQ to tune them and get the low end out of them. the cone is only 2.5" so i knew i couldnt expect too much. the binding posts need to be cut short. if you got the same ones as me those are way too long. they are supposed to slip through the hole though with a nut on the backside. they arent supposed to thread into the housing. i did the same with the spike feet. those have a nut on the back side as well. i assembled and painted mine then put the hardware in. haha, you should have seen me trying to get the nuts one there. lol

All that being said the sound out of them is pretty good especially for the size. I found that it helps to actually have them turned slightly out / \ in relation to where you are listening from. Seems to give a richer sound.jimc wrote:very nice!

Hi guys, awesome prints!
I have been looking all over to find the files or the g-code to print the speaker.
The site seems to be down. Do any of you still have them?
Please let me know.
Thanks!

Re: 3d printed speakers
files sent!
just a heads up to those of you that have made these speakers. i replaced my fountek fe85's with tang band W3-881SJF. they sound much nicer. a little brighter and more crisp with decent low end for a 3" speaker.
