This is a Loki headpiece commission that I did. It's not completely finished here, I'm sending it to the client for the finishing details.
She's wearing it to San Diego Comic Con. :)
All printed in Esun Natural PETG.

Thanks! And yes, it is Jim. It's Rustoleum brand, 2x coverage kind. I really like it.

How is PETG to sand in comparison to ABS? Are there any solvents for it that smooth the surface a la acetone:ABS?

They sand i a similar way. PETG may gum up the sandpaper a little bit more, but not dramatically. I have used "weld on 4" acrylic cement for bonding parts, but haven't tried it for any smoothing effects. I'm going to have experiment with that.

I dunno, I'm happy to accept the health risks of acetone, but messing about with Weld On is a different story. It's probably some devil's brew of solvents that are probably none too good for you. Here's the MSDS: http://www.tapplastics.com/uploads/pdf/ ... %20New.pdf

Vapors are heavier than air, which is good. Trichloroethylene doesn't seem to be something you want to vaporize and breathe in: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichloro ... al_effects

Yeah, the stuff is definitely strong! I always wear a respirator when I use it, but after reading that, I feel a bit more wary.
