Thanks, Vicky! That's a very thorough description of the process. I have done a few multi-process prints, but nothing where I stopped everything and restarted at a non-zero height with a different process. I thought I could probably figure out how to do it, but it's so helpful to have the steps written out clearly and the gotchas pointed out.

Because if there's one thing I do well, it's to get got by the gotchas.

Cool technique and great write-up! (Going to have to start incorporating more of the color layering process into future designs...it looks just stunning with the multiple colors.)

Okay by me......I'm a firm believer in sharing the wealth!

I would think that anyone doing single extruder multi-color printing would really LOVE the new experimental Z-Max bed leveling setup. You could then approach the additional layer print job with a home reference, but without ever bringing the bed close to the X gantry, just go from bed at the bottom direct to the height you want to start printing at.
