I am a competition shooter and got my M2 the day before I left for a trade show and started printing things at our booth here is a photo of a prototype I printed while I was there. This is printed with pla. The black part on the end is what I printed. I used a file to smooth it just a little and a quick spray of flat black paint. Image

Hm, won't that melt down the first time it's fired through? Was this at SHOT?

Jeremy, were you at SHOT? I just got back last night, we were displaying several items that were printed on the M2. In the last week prior to the show, I was printing so many parts and iterations that I started naming my gcode files Build plate 1, 2, etc. I did 28 plates full of parts just in the last week. The final one was started at 2:38am Sunday night when I went to bed, and I set my alarm for 5:30am to join up with my team and make the drive to LV (we're PHX based).

We're Salted Earth, we were on the 3rd floor in the NEXT Pavilion (laser-based firearms training).

cheers,
c

BTW, I was GOING to bring my M2 for emergencies and I just ran out of time and space in the car to pack it. I wish I had known that there was someone there with one, I would have happily bartered for the printing of two small parts (beer is universal currency, right?). Next time around we should do a roll-call here to see who's going.

Speaking of Roll-Call, you guys probably know one of these guys. I'm the other one.

This was our booth, several of the items in the glass case were straight off the M2.

Yes this was at shotshow and I was printing the whole week showing off the printer and giving away shotshell holders.

And yes that part would explode if the gun was fired it was a prototype and for looks only.
I almost posted about going to shotshow but didn't want to rock the boat with antigun people. We definitely need to meet up next time

Right on! RL Ermey owns an M2 and just uses "vandal968" as his code name. :)

Here is a little M2 armament for y'all. Here are my 10-meter air pistol grips with a little inlay.

Very nice. Is the inlay printed in place, or filled-in afterwards? If after, how?

It's pretty easy to use a contrasting color for raised text, but I haven't found a good method for the recessed stuff. Typically, I want to do it for things like these to get some color into the logos:
