Wargaming Terrain

Post by Greg_FL » Wed Mar 29, 2017 2:09 pm

Hello, I have been lurking around here for about 17 months and thought I would share a couple of videos of my Makergear M2 ownership. I print mostly for the wargaming and gaming related hobby fields. It's a niche area, but I thought I would share two of the videos on my YouTube channel.

My first 3d printing video (Jan 2016), this is when I made the switch from plaster casting to 3d printing and never looked back. I give my initial observations about the printer and around the 10 to 12 min mark I start showing off my first gaming related prints (I like the talk, that is the 18 years of New Yorker in me)

16 Month Makergear M2 review - Published on March 21st, 2017 - My opinion on the M2 after 16 months of use and a running collage of screenshots at the end of a ton of stuff I have printed and shown over the last year on the channel. There are 11 more Makergear M2 related videos on my channel also with many to follow.

I just wanted to say that the M2 community does not disappoint, it was this forum and the superusers in it that settled my decision on which printer to buy. I get a ton of e-mail from my channel a week, and I still tell them that the M2 community is the best and encourage them to look at what is happening here. I am hoping to get a 2nd M2 this year as my current one is printing a solid 50 to 80 hours a week.

Those are some great looking prints. Do you do any modeling yourself? I noticed some two-tone buildings, did you paint those?

Thanks, a couple of things in there are mine like the dice boxes. Most of the items are Printable Scenery, Dragon Lock, War Layer, True Tiles and some pieces from Thingiverse. I am learning Fusion 360 and Zbrush core right now between full-time work and full-time school. I hope to be able to turn out my items at some point down the road.

Greg! Your video reviews are the reasons I went with Makergear. I'm very happy. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Thanks for saying that! It is nice to use a printer that just works, and works, and works. I have to be close to 100 hours a week now printing wargaming terrain for the channel. It has been an incredible 17 months owning the M2.
