I ordered the pre assembled version of the M2 and am using simplify 3d. I received the printer yesterday. I had several hours worth of troubleshooting, because the printer fans would not start up. I finally was able to get the printer working and made a couple of prints. I ended up narrowing the problem down to either the power cord terminal that plugs into the Rambo board, or more likely a problem with the power terminal on the Rambo board.
I am able to get the printer to start up, but sometimes during prints or when a print finishes, the movements and vibrations cause the power wire to move slightly, which stops the print and powers off the printer. Occasionally, I hear a slight crackling when the unit has the power problem, and the yellow and green lights will flicker.
I am able to get the printer to work, but I am afraid with further use, the power issue will damage the unit. My question is, what do I do next? Do I try to fix the problem (I am a complete amateur), or is this covered by warranty?
Thanks for any feedback.
Edit: I should add how the problem presented itself to help others - The computer detected there was new hardware installed via the USB wire, but the printer was unresponsive. That confused the heck out of me.

Re: Power connection issues on new printer
I would start by double checking the power wiring, make sure everything is plugged in securely, all wires in terminals are solid, etc. If you can find nothing wrong, email support and they should work with you on trouble shooting it. Any defect will surely be covered under warranty.
Re: Power connection issues on new printer
i agree with jin. it really doesnt sound like the plug is pushed all the way into the rambo board.
Re: Power connection issues on new printer
Eric - I agree with the previous comments that it sounds like the connector from the power supply is not all the way in. It should snap into position.
After reading your Amazon comments I asked support to watch for your email. Since we did not receive it, I re-read your post and saw that you went to the forum. We have a dedicated support team and support instructions are posted on the MakerGear website under the Support tab.
You should never need to do several hours of troubleshooting on a new (assembled) M2. If there is a problem with a new machine, please contact support immediately. The printer was fully tested and inspected before it shipped from our facility.
Thank you,
Rick

Re: Power connection issues on new printer
Solved because of your suggestions (Warning, large pictures)- One of the individual wires of the power cord terminal was not secured. I gave a little tug to each individual power wire and one of them popped out.
I scraped off the glue and, screwed the the flathead screw down, securing the wire. I fired up the printer, and it started with no problem. I moved the wire around slightly to see if the problem would repeat, and it did not. I took some pics before and after, though my camera stinks.
Thank you Rick, Jin, jsc, and Jimc.
I sincerely appreciate it. Great support/forum.

Re: Power connection issues on new printer - Solved
Eric - first, I am sorry that you experienced this problem.
We recently started having this part made/assembled by the wiring house that does most of the wiring harness. We are forwarding the photo so that we can get a process in place to prevent this from re-occurring.
Thank you,
Rick
