Wire/Power connector broken, any thing I can do?

Post by jcspball13 » Sat Sep 26, 2015 11:20 pm

OK, so I purchased a new nozzle; changed out with no issues. Noticed on my first test print, filament was leaking from the top of the nozzle, from between the barrel. Guess I didnt tighten it enough, no big deal.

So I go to disconnect the hot end from the machine and boom, power connector disconnected. Awesome, I rock

So leave out that I suck, and shouldnt have done it, yada yada

Where do I go from here? How do I fix this, or am I going have to send this out?

Thanks guys

If none of the guys jump in, you might want to shoot a quick note to the folks at Makergear. Looks like a 43645 Molex two pin connector, but don't quote me. (There should be a number on it.) Send them a picture. They will know what you need to do to replace it, (i have no idea if they crimp or are soldered in), and they can probably sell you one that is already attached to the wires to replace it.

Good luck. :)

check my post in this thread. all the #'s for everything you will ever need are there. you can get this stuff from makergear BUT your just better off buying 5-10 of each connector and 20 or so pins and sockets just to have. you WILL be needing them again in the future for all kinds of stuff.

Great link, thanks jim! How do the connectors go on, If you don't mind my asking?

(edit: never mind, I see it has a crimp pin thing.)

the pin tool is for removal of the pins and sockets so you can reuse the connector piece. you just strip a small amot off the end of the wire, crimp the pin or socket on to the wire then insert them into the connector. they snap and lock into place.

Perfect. I'm lousy with a soldering iron.
