Z axis homes to bottom (Cura with M2 question)

Post by Jaster » Thu Mar 10, 2016 8:57 pm

Hello,

I'm testing an M2 to put in a 3D printing lab. We primarily use Cura as our slicing/operating software. Everything seems to be fine with the machine, however it homes the Z axis to the bottom of the machine rather than the top when using the Cura Pronterface UI. I have NOT attempted a print yet as I was concerned that I may need to invert the Zaxis on the firmware or just be printing in space. Has anyone else had experience using Cura with the M2?

Is it only Cura doing this? The slicer can't control which direction the printer homes -- that's a compiled-in firmware option (so not even EEPROM can overwrite it)

S3D homes to the bottom too now with the new setup (bottom end stop) but it still prints fine because the firmware handles all the flipping and offsets.
