Anyone figured out how to fix the Win10 print stall issue?
Re: Anyone figured out how to fix the Win10 print stall issu
I mentioned the print-stall issue to an IT friend of mine and he began sending me lists of things to check and uncheck in my USB power settings menu's, basically to never let my USB ports power down because of inactivity to save power. I did everything he said and nothing seemed to work as I was still stalling prints. HOWEVER, I also never shut down my computer, I noticed after installing an update and doing a restart that I began having successful prints of all lengths without any USB stall issues. Unfortunately I cant say what the exact remedy was since there were several things at play, but this was before the new version of S3D.

yes I did all that as well a long time ago when we first started having the issues. none of the power setting made any kind of difference. whatever it was that changed for me was in the past 4 weeks. it had to be a windows update or I just got crazy lucky the past few times.

for anyone still having the issue, there may be another option. I saw something the other day where microsoft released files to run a 3d printer via wifi through a raspberry pi (a la "the internet of things") and makergear m2 is one of the supported printers. it would become a network printer from what I understand.

You could do that with the OctoPrint API for a while now. Someone recently just wrote about how to do it using the S3D post-processing command for Windows: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3798
And I wrote about using Automator on a Mac to do it two years ago: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1324

This isn't the same ... Win10 supports 3D printers "natively", and the ability to go File -> Print in the 3D Model Viewer application is amazing.jsc wrote:You could do that with the OctoPrint API for a while now.
