Error message MinTemp

Occasionally I have been getting an error message on my M2 V6E that reads "Err: Mintemp". The temp readings on the display show normal. To clear this off I have to shut down the power supply and reboot. Any ides what is causing this and what it means?

When i got hit with it, it meant a dropped connection (the USB cable was bad, or an unknown power surge had wiped out the connection, or I plugged too much stuff into the computer while it was running and Windows decided to drop the connection) but it can also be due to a couple other things....thermistor is loose or going bad, broken wire in the harness, something along those lines, I think. You need to start by checking all of the connections, make sure you're not overloading the computer (or print from the SD card with the computer disconnected), and then maybe the guys can give you other ideas on how to check the wiring to see if something might have broken somewhere.

I print from the SD card with the LCD interface. I thought it may be a loose connection as I have recently been pulling the hot end, but the plugs fell and look well connected, and the wires to the hot end appear good and in tack. Thanks for the response, it confirms my thought that it could be a loose connection, since it is intermittent.

Almost certainly, one of the wires from the hot end thermistor is breaking, perhaps inside the thermistor where it can't be seen or felt. Isolating the problem involves verifying that the wires between the thermistor connector and the RAMBo aren't failing by gently flexing the cable while watching the temperature display, then replacing the thermistor before the (intermittent) problem gets worse.

Alternatively, you can experience incredible frustration while devoting an inordinate amount of time to reloading firmware, adjusting the machinery, screwing around with print settings, and messing with everything else, before replacing the thermistor, un-doing all the other changes, then getting on with your life. Thanks, I thought the problem may be in the plug, as I have been removing and reinstalling the extruder lately. I'll check out the wiring as well and try to see where the problem is and replace that section.
