either that or the v4. the v4 is an extremely nice setup. i have 3 m2's with e3d and 1 with v4. i was highly impressed with the v4. extremely nice. there isnt really any noticable difference between the .35 and .4. you would not be able to see any difference because they are so close.

Did you happen to notice which one had less of an oozing issue? (Does any of them essentially require no negative restart for almost-100% ooze free printing?)

To mr.other person, I would show you some prints for comparison, but they've been shipped already. ;)

I'd have to dig through my scrap pile to find any I could compare.

So, does somebody have a link to the motor mount that we are talking about? I'd like to see it.

I didn't realize that the V4 nozzle improves quality. I've had one on the shelf waiting for a bad clog of my v3b, but it just keeps on going. I've got 5 empty spools now in my pile and several partials. On the Makerbots that I'm used to, the nozzles would be apart every few days to keep them going.

cheers,
c

the video the people is talking about is this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh4p9VO ... e=youtu.be) and if u read the comment in the thread i linked one of the message is from rpollack that mention that the metal mount will be available soon

right now the user showing it is a distributor in Germany (http://www.3d-cafe.eu/) so i guess he got a preview to show off in the European market but that's suppose to be the future

Neither one needs a neg restart. I avoid that at all cost. While neg restart can help it also can cause issues.

Oh, the E3D is .4mm. So is my replicator's hotend. I wonder if there's anything behind this .4mm/lack-of-ooze connection? Yeah, I'm running the V3B .35mm hotend.

High Quality Printing.
We've kept our sharp thermal transition that gives the high quality printing performance users have come to expect from E3D hotends. A sharp thermal break gives better control over filament output so you get more immediate start and stops when extruding as well as retracts that are more effective in combatting ooze. For the user this means sharper more accurate prints that have less stringing, oozing or blobs on the prints.
It seems that E3D knows their stuff. This is reassuring, so obviously I just need to upgrade to an E3D V6. I just hope that isn't very complicated, lol. Time to look for some E3D install threads.
The v3b has a pretty long heatbreak thanks to the brass barrel. The E3Dv6 is reasonably short, the v4 is shorter.

I'm potentially a little biased, but the more I use it, the more I think the V4 is actually the best hotend on these machines right now.
