Printing from SD card...

Post by KiddingMe » Thu Jan 08, 2015 4:33 am

Is it normal that you must remove the usb cable after starting a print from SD card in order to get it to not pause?

When I try pressing Disconnect or closing S3D the print pauses and I cannot figure out how to restart it. It only seems to continue printing if I pull the usb cable which seems odd to me.

yes if you want to print untethered then you usually start the print then pull the usb cable. that has atleast been the way i think most or all of us do it.

Ok. Thanks.

I thought you would want to click disconnect or close S3D before pulling the usb cable.

In the older firmware, doing a commanded USB disconnect (or something that causes one, like PC going to sleep, shutting down, etc.) caused the Rambo to basically execute the equivalent of a power-up reset. No idea what current firmware does, but I'm not one to risk a print, and I long ago got in the habit of just pulling the cable.
