In S3D when I am telling what cooling fan speed to run at the fan won't turn on during the print unless I have the speed set at 100%

So for example I currently have my layer on set at: 0 ( no fan )
Then on Layer #2 the setting is at 80%

When I run the print the fan never turns on.
However if I change the 80% to 100% then it will turn on.

I have noticed even on the manual override I have to slide the slider bar on the fan speed almost all the way to about 95% of the way to the right before it will turn the fan on at the slightly slower speed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Did you select the option "Blip fan to full power when increasing from idle"? Some fans are just finicky about starting up at anything less than full power.

Yes that option is selected.

that seems to be fairly normal depending on the brand of fans on the machine. some just need full power to operate and the blip just isnt enough to get em goin.

Also make sure that the 2nd setpoint is listed in the box on the far left. The values under the "Add Setpoint" and "Remove Setpoint" buttons are not actually used for anything (other than to be copied to the left when you click on "Add Setpoint", although you can just as easily edit the values once they're in the box, so it's just confusing). That bit of useless interface clutter had me fooled for a bit.

Just a quick update on this issue after I played around with it...

It looks like if I set the speed to 97% it works fine.
at 97% it is just the right amount of air flow.

Even though 97% would sound like it's close to 100% speed it actually seems like it's running at about half speed which is what I was after anyway.

If I set the speed for anything less than 97% than the fan won't turn on at all.

But since 97% gets me to the correct speed I will consider this problem solved.
