Old model M2 spare parts?

Post by Tim » Sun Feb 01, 2015 11:44 pm

The makergear.wikidot.com/m2-components only has the most recent set of parts for the M2. I'm looking for replacement parts for the original M2 design with the 3-point, ball-bearing spool holder. I guess it was over-designed for something that, practically speaking, only needs to be a chunk of plastic that you can stick a filament spool on. But I like it anyway. Problem is, the piece in the middle that attaches to the M2 frame and holds the rod in place has cracked and needs to be replaced. Did the parts repository ever contain these parts, and if so, did anyone download them, and still have a copy?

Want to just buy my old set? I converted mine to the newer style and have the old parts sitting in a box.

Well. . . I only need the one part, really. I thought about putting the same kind of spool holder on the other side (for the dual extruder), but I don't think there's any way it will fit, so I'm going to use the one that jdacal posted to Thingiverse. If it works well, maybe I'll just put one on both sides (I ordered parts from McMaster for two of them).

By the way, as a follow-up, I contacted MakerGear and found out that those old M2 parts are, in fact, on the github site. Unlike the others, however, they aren't listed on the wiki site, so you have to go browse through the github listing. Plus, the names are a bit obscure, but they are there.
