High temp extruder?

What extruder/hot end is everyone using for high temp filaments. Seems the V3b lacks in high temps and doesn't allow for many mat'l choices. Will Matterhacker's E3D work on the M2?

Mist everyone is useing makergear's v4 or the e3dv6. You can get that from printedsolid.com. The v3b works with about every filament except polycarb but your running it at the absolute max with no room for error which is why i switched. Either hot end will work. I got an e3d because the v4 wasnt released at the time.

I've been using the e3dv6 as well. Works like a champ so far, haven't used it at the higher temperatures yet. Will try the V4 when it comes out, looks really nice.

I have used both the E3Dv6 and the MakerGear v4 (which I'm using now), and I find them to be pretty much equivalent in temperature range, mostly due to the thin heat-break on both of them. In the past, when I had the V3(a), I would worry about how high I took the temperature. Now I print PETg at 255 (some colors do better at 245, but I have to take it up 10 degrees for the yellow filament). An overshoot to 260 and beyond is nothing to be concerned about on either the E3Dv6 or the v4. Haven't tried anything higher temperature than that, though.

i ran mine at 255 regularly. never go over that though. i think highest recommended is 250.

What is the highest temperature that can be used with the V4 with PTFE liner?

I have some material that likes 265 to 275 degrees C. Can I get a V4 with the liner and replace the liner with a spacer material and get higher temperatures that way?

PTFE tubing is good up to 500 F ( working ) so as long as that is not your weakest link than you should be good with the PTFE.

500F is "only" 260C, which is less than the 265-275C the poster asked about...

That said, the PTFE hotend apparently tolerates overtemp, although I like having the all-metal hotend for those situations.
