I'm running a legacy 12v M2, and recently I have been having sporadic non-responsive shutdowns when first starting a print. These shutdowns would only happen when pre-heating the hotend.
Last night I was getting shutdowns every time I tried to pre-heat the hotend.
This morning, I noticed that turning on the hotend would make the fy1906000 power convert start to buzz. Shifting the converter around stopped the buzzing and the printer is working for now.
Is it time to replace the fy1906000? Is there anything I can do to repair my current converter?
Buzzing fy1906000 power brick- time for a replacement?
Re: Buzzing fy1906000 power brick- time for a replacement?
Ok first thing to check is the connectors on the back of the rambo. Those are know to run on the edge of meltdown on the 12v machines. Be sure all that is clean and no overheating especially when the bed heater is on. If thats all good it may be time to upgrade to 24v. It really is recommended and a better setup.

Everything on the board is okay, I soldered the wires directly onto the rambo a while ago.jimc wrote:Ok first thing to check is the connectors on the back of the rambo. helix_3, shoot me a PM. If you're in the US, I would be willing to ship you the one I'm no longer using after my 24V conversion.

helix_3, got your PM, sent a reply PM -- look for it.
Re: Buzzing fy1906000 power brick- time for a replacement?
helix_3, you have another PM. Long story short, I found the 12V brick, but I can't find the 19V brick. Let me know if the one you need is the 12V or the 19V. If it's the 12V it will go out fast ship Tuesday (if I hear from you soon). If it's the 19V you need, I'll have to turn my printer room upside down. (It's a mess from home improvement happening elsewhere in the house... )
Sorry for the delay.

I have a 19v brick sitting idle from the 24v upgrade.

I ended up buying a very similarly rated laptop charger from a local store, because the fy1906000 became almost completely fried. Replacing it with the new charger completely fixed all my problems!
