Filament Drive Motor

Filament Drive motor seems to not be getting power. I had a jam up in the filament drive but now it wont do anything. I moved the motor down and pluged into z axis motor as they appear to be the same motor and it works fine. I submitted a ticket to support but thought I would ask here incase it is something simple that I am missing.
Thanks,

does the little white plug look ok? are any wires loose or broken at the plug? was this a kit or did you buy it assembled? are the wires hooked up correctly at the rambo board? if you try to jog the motor and wiggle the wires at the same time does the motor move at all?

Bought it assembled has been working great for about a week. I jammed the filament drive today and hasn't worked since. Connections look fine no bent pins.

when you jammed the drive what did you remove? did you remove the actual motor from the mount or did you just pull the filament drive off the front? all the other axis move ok? do the fans work?

I have the motor off and down to internal pinion gear. I moved it down and plugged it into Z axis motor and motor runs. All other motors and fans are working fine.

yeah, reassemble the motor gearbox. it would not be that. if the gearbox was jammed or something like that then the motor would make loud grinding noise which is harmless. its just skipping steps but since its not doing that then the problem lies elsewhere. too late now but to fix any kind of jam you dont need to remove the motor. that stays put. just remove the filament drive. at this point i would guess it was the wires at the plug. either that or you fried the mosfet for the extruder motor on the rambo board somehow.

The good news is Im learning.... the bad news Im bugging all of you. Hot End needs to be hot for filament drive motor to move. Was looking at G code terminal and saw (echo cold extrusion prevented cold extrusion prevented) Another lesson learned in this world of 3d printing. The good thing is I learned how to tear the hot end and motor all apart. Thanks again!

Chuckle! Did the exact same thing when i first started printing. (Only i submitted an error report to MakerGear saying my filament drive motor was bad,
then i came to the forum and they told me.)
