filament guide melting. Fan is running

Good morning group! The filament guide gets hot enough to melt and allow the V3b hot end that I run PLA at 210deg to melt and allow the nozzle to go out of alignment. I have cobbled it together enough to print another guide which just ruined a print at the beginning stages thankfully. Did I read somewhere that it might be running hotter than it is reporting? The fan is on. Thanks much! Wayne

Is this the original Filament drive you are running or is it a replacement you printed yourself? If it's a replacement is it printed in ABS?

Sorry to waste your time. The tube was cracked due to my haste in forcing it into the guide. Thanks again!

I'm now confused.
(Ahhhhhh, you meant the clear plastic guide tube, not the filament drive. Scared the cr*p out of me, I thought you were about to burn your house down.

Printed it in PLA. I also changed simplify versions and didn't turn on the bottom fan as soon as it starts printing. Changed that also with an old PTFE? Tube it is back to the reliable machine I know and love. Thanks much. ABS is lower temp correct?

I think we're all confused
If your talking about the Filament Drive (V3B)
Seen HERE it should be printed in ABS as ABS can handle higher temps. (ABS is printed in the 230° range with no bed fan.)
If your talking about the filament guide
Seen Here that holds the tube the feeds the filament to the drive then that can be printed in PLA. When printing in PLA the bed fan should be turned on
after printing the first layer of your part.

Thank you Steve. Yes, the filament drive (V3b). I will print one in ABS. Thanks a bunch. That makes sense. Wayne

And instead of PTFE I meant PEEK tube. Grrr. My brain.....
