Its broken by mechanical stress. To much bending. In my eyes this is the best solution: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1001793

In the meantime just remove the complete sleeve and replace the wires.

Yes, the wire experienced fatigue stresses and eventually failed over time from the back and forth motion. I think this is a fairly common problem - mine did the same thing a month or so ago.

You could print something, but I think my solution was better...I contacted MakerGear about getting/buying a replacement and they sent me one. The new one I received has a stronger wire design which eliminates this problem.

In the meantime, you can attempt to solder it back together (if you have the tools) or do something else along those lines like Kulturfolger said. Also zip tie the wire to the metal spider piece to reduce stresses.

I wound up soldering it back together, the weird thing is I can't find the "Heated Platform" as a spare part to buy...... :o

Email support [at] makergear [dot] com, that's how you get any random part of the machine.

Yes, I couldn't find it either which is why I had to email support. Sorry, should have been more clear about that in my previous post. They sent me a new one with the revamped wire/connection design and it arrived within a week.

What does the new style look like?

I just looked the new style has a loop/circle at the end of the bed, the cable which is inside a wire loop goes thru the hole. Essentially supporting the wire, much better design.

I would think it could be added to any bed, they just drilled two holes in the bed, countersunk, and attached the "loop" on the bottom.
